The Club’s Supporter Engagement Team, who worked on the project alongside DJS Research, were recognised at a special ceremony in London on Thursday night.
The team scooped gold in the ‘Best Fan Engagement by a Club’ category, for the way they engaged with fans, stakeholders and experts to gain insight and understanding into the experiences of supporters with disabilities throughout the Club.
A number of changes have been implemented at King Power Stadium as a result of the research, including accessible kiosks, improved ticketing systems, fully accessible changing rooms and disabled access lines in the Foxes Fanstore.
Head of Supporter Engagement, Stuart Johncock, said: “At Leicester City Football Club, we are passionate about providing all supporters with a great experience when they visit King Power Stadium, so to receive an industry award for the work the Club has done is a huge honour.”
Leicester City’s late Chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, was also honoured posthumously with the ‘Outstanding Contribution Award’, in acknowledgement of his leadership at the Club and his enormous impact on the football world and local community.
