Having collected 22 points since early April, Leicester welcomed Queens Park Rangers to King Power Stadium on the final day of the 2014/15 season safe in the knowledge that their Premier League status was secure.

It had been a fraught few weeks with the Club, who sat bottom of the Premier League as late as April, but a stunning run of seven wins in nine took the top flight by storm.

In a 5-1 success over relegated QPR, Albrighton notched Leicester's second goal in their biggest win of the season, a victory which sent them into the 2015/16 season riding a wave of optimism.

The tension was palpable as Swansea City headed to Filbert Way in April 2016. Without top goalscorer Jamie Vardy, the Foxes were five points clear at the summit with four games to play.

City's remarkable transformation under Claudio Ranieri had seen them instilled as new favourites to win the title during a season in which they started it as the bookies' pick for relegation.

Many wondered if the Foxes could maintain their form without Vardy, who had been suspended, but Albrighton's goal against the Swansea helped them to a 4-0 win - their biggest of the season.

With the Premier League title secured and UEFA Champions League qualification confirmed, the Club's first-ever outing in European football's platinum club competition took them to Club Brugge in September 2016.

The Blue Army approached the fixture with quiet optimism but they undoubtedly will have been wary of what such a prestigious tournament had in store for them.

They needn't have worried too much, however, as Albrighton pounced in just the fifth minute to score one of the most iconic goals in the Club's entire history. Another two from Riyad Mahrez sealed a 3-0 success.

European delirium

One of the most memorable atmospheres in King Power Stadium's existence greeted the Foxes as they attempted to overturn a 2-1 first leg deficit to Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League last-16 in March 2017.

Wes Morgan struck first for Leicester in front of a ferocious crowd on Filbert Way, giving the home side the edge on away goals, but they needed another for comfort.

Up stepped Albrighton to volley home from the edge of the 18-yard box in the 54th minute, before Kasper Schmeichel saved a penalty from Steven Nzonzi to book a quarter-final tie with Atlético Madrid.

Eight days after scoring a superb volley against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, in a Carabao Cup Quarter-Final penalty shootout defeat, Albrighton pounced again on Filbert Way.

The Manchester outfit were back in town on Boxing Day in 2018 and the odds were stacked in their favour as they contested a thrilling title race with Liverpool.

However, when Vardy looped a cross into Albrighton's path, the 28-year-old did tremendously well to nod it back across goal and beyond Ederson before Ricardo Pereira's stunning winner later on.
