- Wout Faes played throughout Belgium's 1-0 defeat to Israel
- The Red Devils finish third in their UEFA Nations League group
- Kasey McAteer was a late substitute for Republic of Ireland
- Ireland lost 5-0 to England at Wembley Stadium

Having lost out to Italy three days earlier, the Red Devils were hoping to bounce back against Israel, but lost 1-0 at Bozsik Aréna in Hungary in their final group match.

It looked to be heading for a goalless draw until Yarden Shua popped up with an 86th-minute winner to leave Belgium third in Nations League A Group 2, with four points from their six games, and will now head into a relegation play-off to decide their fate in the competition.

Elsewhere in the group, Caleb Okoli was an unused substitute for Italy in their 3-1 defeat to group winners France at San Siro; the Azzurri finishing in second.

Earlier on, McAteer came off the bench at Wembley Stadium as Ireland lost 5-0 to England in League B Group 2. The visitors had defended valiantly in the first half but Liam Scales' 51st-minute red card and subsequent Harry Kane penalty turned the game in favour of Lee Carsley's side.

Anthony Gordon and Conor Gallagher soon added their names to the scoresheet, before Jarrod Bowen and Taylor Harwood-Bellis rounded off the scoring ahead of McAteer's late introduction in the 86th minute. Heimir Hallgrímsson's men finish in third place, with six points from their six matches.
