Ndidi & Faes Involved For Nigeria & Belgium

Wilfred Ndidi played throughout Nigeria's draw with Benin while Wout Faes started Belgium's narrow defeat to Italy on Thursday evening.
More on this story...

- Wilfred Ndidi featured during Nigeria's 1-1 draw with Benin
- Wout Faes was a starter for Belgium as they lost out to Italy
- Caleb Okoli an unused substitute in the game

- Kasey McAteer remained on the bench for Republic of Ireland

City midfielder Ndidi lined up alongside former Foxes Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman in José Peseiro’s starting XI for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier but it was the hosts who took the lead on 16 minutes - Mohamed Tijani providing the finish.

Nigeria hit back with 81 minutes on the clock, Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen equalising to claim a share of the spoils and maintain their unbeaten run in the first five qualifiers for the 2025 tournament.

Next up, the Super Eagles tackle Rwanda at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Monday afternoon (4pm kick-off), hoping to extend their lead at the top of Group D, which currently stands at four points.

Centre-back Faes got another 90 minutes under his belt for his nation but could not prevent Newcastle United's Sandro Tonali from scoring the only goal of the game at King Baudouin Stadium. Caleb Okoli, awaiting his first senior cap, was an unused substitute for the Azzurri

The pair could also feature elsewhere on Sunday, with the Red Devils, now third in League A Group 2, travelling to face Israel and the top of the table Italy hosting France (both 7:45pm kick-offs).

Kasey McAteer remained on the bench as Ireland defeated Finland 1-0 courtesy of Evan Ferguson's goal. Positioned third in League B Group 2, Ireland make the short trip to Wembley Stadium on Sunday for their meeting with England (5pm kick-off).

There's more potential Foxes involvement to come on Friday, with Ghana, Morocco and Denmark all in action. Head back to LCFC.com to find out how they get on.
