City's Women Beaten By Coventry In Quorn
Following a break in league action for the Continental Cup, where they were beaten by Manchester United on Thursday, the Foxes welcomed Coventry to Quorn on Sunday.
However, City missed out on the opportunity to climb the FA Women's Championship standings as they fell to defeat against Coventry, who subsequently went level on points with their hosts.
Leicester, though, could have gone in front as early as the 17th minute when Annabel Blanchard was felled in the penalty area, but Lachante Paul sent her spot-kick onto the crossbar.
They were ahead with nine minutes of the first half to go, as Paige Bailey-Gayle broke quickly before squaring it up for Libby Smith to finish it smartly.
Despite that success, the Foxes went in at the break a goal down as Amber Hughes nodded home to equalise before netting again following good work from Shannon O'Brien.
Helen Dermody, meanwhile, added a third for Coventry in Quorn, latching onto a Katy Morris through ball, to wrap up all three points for the visitors.
City are next in action next Sunday when Blackburn Rovers are the visitors to Farley Way (2pm kick-off).
