Dewsbury-Hall Looking To Bounce Back Swiftly
- Leicester City's Development Squad suffered a 3-0 defeat by Arsenal on Friday evening
- The result leaves them third in Group A of the Premier League International Cup
- Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall says City were not aggressive enough at Meadow Park
- The Club's youngsters face Newport County in the Leasing.com Trophy on Tuesday
The Foxes fell to a 3-0 reverse at Meadow Park, just their second loss in 16 matches, as Robbie Burton, Folarin Balogun and James Olayinka struck for the Gunners.
Reflecting on the disappointing result in Borehamwood, which leaves City third in Group A, Under-23s captain Dewsbury-Hall admitted a lack of aggression in the game cost Leicester.
"We did have chances throughout the 90 minutes but we’re not shying away from tonight, we weren’t good enough," he told LCFC TV at full-time.
"We made a couple of changes going into the game but that doesn’t excuse anything. I don’t think we pressed well enough, or as well as we’ve pressed in previous games.
We Weren't At Our Best, Says Dewsbury-Hall
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall felt Leicester City's Development Squad did not perform to their maximum after falling to a 3-0 defeat by Arsenal in the Premier League International Cup on Friday night.
"We weren’t aggressive enough and ultimately they were three goals that could have easily been avoided so yes, we’re really disappointed.
"All of the goals could have been avoided and, on another day if we were a bit more clever, then they wouldn’t have been goals.
"We came out in the second half at 1-0 and we started well, we were pressing them in, we were on top and if one of our chances went in then we make it 1-1.
"It’s a completely different game then but none of them did and they punished us and it was hard to come back from that."
This is just City's second loss in 16, of which 23 were victories, and Leicester's youngsters remain in the Premier League 2 Division 1 race, as well as the Leasing.com Trophy.
Goals: Arsenal U23s 3 Leicester City U23s 0
All three goals from the Premier League International Cup clash between Arsenal and Leicester City's Development Squad on Friday.
The Foxes travel to Newport County in the quarter-finals on Tuesday (7pm kick-off) and Dewsbury-Hall says attempting to bounce back with a positive result is now top of the agenda.
"We’ve been on a fantastic run and credit to all the lads for what we’ve done," he continued. "At any level to get 12 wins in 13 games is great but that wasn’t us tonight, it wasn’t good enough.
"So, we’re going to go back and we’ve got a really important game on Tuesday that we need to bounce back quickly in, that’s the lucky thing here.
"We haven’t got long to dwell on it. Hopefully we can bounce back and get a good result on Tuesday."
