Massive Momentum For Liverpool Showdown, Says Morgan
- LCFC Women travel to Prenton Park to face Liverpool in the FA Women's Championship on Sunday (2pm GMT kick-off)
- The Foxes head into the clash after winning their Continental Tyres League Cup Quarter-Final tie at Crystal Palace
- Leicester are top of the league by three points after securing six league victories in a row
- Manager Jonathan Morgan hopes City can use that momentum to spur them on against the Reds
City, who secured safe passage into the semi-finals of the Continental Tyres League Cup on Thursday, travel to Prenton Park sitting at the table's apex by a margin of three months.
Since 1 November, the Foxes have won eight of nine matches in normal time, with the other being a penalty shootout success at Birmingham City following a goalless stalemate in the cup.
Morgan, though, is under no illusions about the scale of the task at hand against the Reds, who were relegated from the Women's Super League at the end of 2019/20.
"Liverpool are a fantastic team with lots of experience and lots of WSL experience," he told LCFC TV. "The league’s not finished at all yet. They’re going to have a massive say.
There’s a huge amount of positivity [in the group] and I can’t talk highly enough about the players and the staff.

"They’re still massive title contenders and still favourites, in my opinion, in terms of the way they can play and what they can do. They’re obviously going to think we’re a little tired after today’s game.
"Our girls will go back and recover, rest up, and get ready on Saturday for the game on Sunday. We’re just looking forward for the challenge and to play another team."
Morgan believes City are settled as a group after a year of transition, turning professional last summer, and are ready for the challenge which awaits them in the North West this weekend.
"There’s a huge amount of positivity [in the group] and I can’t talk highly enough about the players and the staff," he added. "We’re settled, we're gelling and we’re understanding each other.

Flint smashed home the winner with just seconds of normal time remaining.
"Don’t get me wrong, by no stretch of the imagination are we playing our best football and we know we can be so much better, but it’s nine wins on the bounce now.
"That’s massive momentum going into such a big game on Sunday against Liverpool. It’s been a great season so far and we seem to keep breaking new ground for us as a club as Leicester City.
"It’s been a brilliant turn of the year with the move into Belvoir Drive and now we’re into the semi-finals of the Conti Cup for the first time in the Club’s history… as a Championship team.
"We’re only the second Championship team to do that after Man Utd, so I’m really proud of that stat and obviously I’m totally thrilled, and I generally feel the girls really deserve that."
