England midfielder James Maddison could return for the Foxes soon, Brendan Rodgers says.

Ahead of the encounter with Manchester City, manager Brendan Rodgers commented: "[James Maddison is] back in training and he will be available for the weekend, so that’s great news for us. Clearly, he’s not 100 per cent match fit but, in terms of his football fitness, he looks great.

"In the last few weeks, he’s been working with the team, with the players we have available, and he’s stepped that up. He’s not reporting any pain and he looks great. It’s really good news for us, his availability back into the squad again, and hopefully he can stay fit now until the end of the season."

The Foxes enjoyed a big 5-2 victory at Manchester City during the early weeks of the 2020/21 season.

It was a remarkable day in Manchester on 27 September, 2020 as Leicester City's 5-2 victory over Manchester City at Etihad Stadium continued an impressive start to the season for the Foxes and maintained a 100 per cent away record that would continue for a further three games.

Going a goal down after just four minutes thanks to former Fox Riyad Mahrez's strike, Leicester equalised via the penalty spot and Jamie Vardy's first of the afternoon.

His second came shortly after the break and was followed by his hat-trick goal - also from 12 yards. James Maddison added a stunning fourth and Youri Tielemans rounded off the scoring with a third penalty late on, either side of Nathan Aké's consolation.
