LCFC Women's Pre-Season Continues With Liverpool Exercise
The Foxes faced the FA Women’s Championship outfit at Belvoir Drive on Sunday afternoon as preparations intensify for their Barclays FA Women’s Super League opener.
City will travel to tackle Aston Villa on the weekend of 3-5 September, which will mark their first-ever game in the top division of English women’s football since a historic promotion was achieved.
But before then, an enhanced level of fitness will be reached, with the friendlies an ideal opportunity for the team to be put through their paces in a competitive environment.

And manager Jonathan Morgan, who closely observed the pre-season exercise alongside his coaching staff, was happy with the squad’s first runout against another opposition.
“We’re really pleased with what we’ve done today," he told LCFC.com after full-time. "We’ve executed what we’ve been working on for the last couple of weeks in training and for our first pre-season game, we’re quite satisfied.
"The fact that they have got their first 90 minutes under their belts and the fact they’ve worked hard for it, it just gives us a really strong platform to move on from.”
A first outing in Leicester City colours for forward Jess Sigsworth.
New signings Jess Sigsworth, Jemma Purfield, Georgia Brougham, Molly Pike, Abbi Grant and Abbie McManus all got valuable minutes under their belts in a Leicester City shirt.
After training and getting to know their team-mates at the Club's impressive base this summer, they are becoming increasingly accustomed to LCFC Women's tactics and strategies.
And with just over a month to go until City’s maiden fixture in the top-flight, work will now continue at Belvoir Drive throughout August to ensure they are fully prepared in every area for the challenge ahead.
