News that the venue will house eight of the Foxes’ Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixtures this season was announced last Thursday, building up anticipation for the upcoming campaign.

Flint, who experienced playing at the stadium for the first time when LCFC Women lifted the FA Women’s Championship trophy behind closed doors in May, believes having supporters present will add a significant extra edge.

“We couldn’t really ask for anything better than having home games here at King Power Stadium,” the forward admitted to LCFC TV. “The majority of the clubs I’ve been at, you get to play one or two games there (at the club's main stadium).

The forward got her name on the scoresheet and celebrated promotion to the WSL on her last appearance at King Power Stadium.

“To play most of our home games here is going to be unreal, we can’t ask for a better pitch, and hopefully the fans will come and like that too.

“I love the fans coming, I really like the fans being there, I think it brings something more out of your game as well. For the fans to be able to get back in this year is going to be unreal.”

Turning attention to pre-season preparations, Flint explained how everything is gearing up towards the opening fixture of the season, away to Aston Villa, with a series of friendlies providing beneficial workouts.

They have also allowed the squad to gel together at the Club’s Belvoir Drive training ground, following the arrival of seven new players over the summer.

She continued: “Like any other pre-season, mentally and physically it’s tough, but that’s what pre-season is for, to get you fit and ready for the season ahead. In the pre-season friendly games, they can go either way, but it’s just about working on us - us as a team and us as individuals.

I do feel like I’ve been out of the WSL for a long time and I’m really excited to be back into the league, where it’s even more competitive and challenging.

“All the new players that have come in have gelled easily to be honest and are easy to get with on and off the pitch. So, I think that’s been good for every single one of the girls to just get on with them.

“And you can’t really ask for better, training in that facility that we do. We have I don’t know how many pitches to train on every day, they are unreal. The gym is unreal, the facilities inside, the canteen - we have everything there.”

A new division brings unknown challenges for LCFC Women as a group, but individually, several members of the team have previously competed in the top-flight, including Flint.

The former Manchester City star believes that know-how could be crucial for the Foxes to enjoy a successful first campaign at this level.

The 25-year-old explained: “We do have half of the squad that has been in the WSL before, and the other half which hasn’t, so the experience of players being there is going to be key for the players who haven’t. I think it will help massively.

“It is exciting. I do feel like I’ve been out of the WSL for a long time and I’m really excited to be back into the league, where it’s even more competitive and challenging.

“I don’t really set myself any targets, I just set myself on a gameday to basically do the best I can in possession, out of possession, in attack, in defence, and hopefully the goals will come.”
