No Change In Player Availability For Newcastle, Says Rodgers

- Manager Brendan Rodgers has offered an update on the fitness of his squad
- Nobody is expected to return for Leicester City's trip to Newcastle United this week
- The Foxes face the Magpies in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday
- There were updates on James Maddison (knee), Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (glute), Boubakary Soumaré (hamstring) and Dennis Praet (rib and hip)

The Foxes left Kent with a 1-0 win over Gillingham in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday, ahead of Tuesday's Carabao Cup last-eight tie at St. James' Park. Leicester face Eddie Howe's side in an 8pm GMT kick-off.

City's current injuries include James Maddison (knee), Patson Daka (hamstring), Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (glute), Dennis Praet (rib and hip), Boubakary Soumaré (hamstring), Jonny Evans (calf), James Justin (Achilles), Ricardo Pereira (Achilles) and Ryan Bertrand (knee).

Rodgers, though, says it'll be the same players available for Tuesday as the squad which travelled to Priestfield Stadium at the weekend. That means the game comes too soon for Maddison to appear for the first time since November.

"It’ll be the same squad as the weekend," the Northern Irishman said. "There's no timeline on [Maddison]. It’s day to day. He’s working with the medical team and clearly we’d want him back as soon as possible, like so many other players. We’ve got some starting players out for us. James, along with those players, we hope will be back, but I’ve got no timescale on it."

There was also news on Dewsbury-Hall, Soumaré and Praet during Monday's press conference. While Dewsbury-Hall is close to a return to training, Soumaré and Praet could have to wait longer to feature in competitive action.

"[Dewsbury-Hall] is due out onto the [training] pitch on Friday," the Foxes manager explained. "We’ll see and assess from there how that goes. [Soumaré] will be a wee bit longer.

"I think four to six weeks from when it happened was the diagnosis. [Praet’s] been in quite a bit of pain around his rib and down into his hip. We’re assessing that. He’s been out onto the pitch but with no contact.

"It’s a delicate one for him so we’re seeing day by day how it eases off, but he’s still not ready for contact yet."
