Maresca: Kristiansen Close To A Return
- Victor Kristiansen could feature in Saturday's visit to Huddersfield Town
- Mads Hermansen remains out but could return soon
- Conor Coady is also set to be on the sidelines for a while yet
City are hoping to make it three wins in a row at the start of 2023/24. The Foxes opened the league campaign with a 2-1 victory over Coventry City at King Power Stadium, before a 2-0 success at Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup.
Kristiansen, who recently made his Denmark debut, has not featured this season. Goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, meanwhile, missed Burton on Wednesday and is set to be out again this weekend, but won’t be away for long, Maresca says.
'A Very Tough Game For Us'
Enzo Maresca meets the press in Seagrave ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet Championship visit to Huddersfield Town.
“[Kristiansen is] fit for the next game,” the Manager explained on Friday. “Mads is good, but not good enough to play tomorrow. It’s just a very small injury and he will probably be fit for the next game.”
Conor Coady continues to be out, however, after sustaining an injury in pre-season.
“Since he got the injury, we needed 10 weeks,” Maresca added. “One of the reasons we decided to sign him is because he’s a huge leader. Unfortunately, he’s out, so we lose a lot, but it is what it is. We need to adapt.”
