Enzo Maresca’s side defeated the Pilgrims 4-0 on Saturday, with Ndidi among the goalscorers on Filbert Way. Attention has already turned towards Wednesday’s encounter with the south London outfit, however, as Leicester look to keep pace at the top end of the Sky Bet Championship.
The Lions are due at King Power Stadium for a 7:45pm GMT kick-off.
“It was really pleasing,” the midfielder commented inside the latest issue of the Club’s official matchday publication earlier this week. “Getting three points is so important and getting more goals is even more important, so it was a good game. The second half was a bit better and we were pleased with it.
There’s still so many games to come, so we just go for the next one, which is very, very important.
Wilfred Ndidi CITY
“With games like this, we’re really pleased and the margin [of victory] just gives us more confidence. We know we can achieve these things, so we just need to keep going. It’s great for now, but we need to keep going because we can’t afford any slip up.
“We really need to focus on the next game and getting the points, instead of thinking about where we are at the moment. There’s still so many games to come, so we just go for the next one, which is very, very important.
“Now it’s Millwall, so we have to look forward to it and do our best to get the job done.”
Another chance to put points on the board at home, in front of the Blue Army, it’s a game the Nigerian is looking forward to. Leicester have won 16 of their 20 matches so far this term, but City cannot rest on their laurels, he warned.
Wilfred Ndidi vs. Plymouth Argyle
Wilfred Ndidi rounded off the scoring by netting this second-half strike against Plymouth Argyle.
The 26-year-old added: “Of course, we cannot take our foot off the gas because these are very difficult games and we have to be on top of our game. Now we just need to recover to be at our best and go again.
“We’ll work through it during the days that we have before the game. So I think we’re going to be really ready for this one. These are the ones we look forward to because the fans have been amazing and also getting these wins gives people more smiles around the place.
“There’s no easy games, though, we really have to be on top of our game.”
Hear more from Ndidi in Wednesday’s issue of CITY, the latest edition of the Club’s matchday publication, which can be picked up from around Filbert Way on matchday.
