Ricardo: A Great Win
- Leicester City were 3-2 winners over Millwall at King Power Stadium
- Wednesday's victory, a 17th of the season, put the Foxes top of the Sky Bet Championship
- Ricardo Pereira, involved in the winning goal, says it's a 'great win' for City
Tom Bradshaw's opener gave the visiting Lions a surprise lead at King Power Stadium after 10 minutes, which Joe Edwards' men held until half-time.
In the second half, though, the Foxes began to take control of the match, with Jannik Vestergaard and then Patson Daka putting the home side ahead. Ricardo Pereira's shot later deflected off Wilfred Ndidi for a third goal later on.
Although Kevin Nisbet got one back for Millwall in added time, the damage had been done - enough to send Leicester back to the top of the Sky Bet Championship and open up an 11-point gap to third-placed Leeds United.
City Dig Deep For Millwall Win
Leicester City regain top spot in the Sky Bet Championship with a 3-2 win over Millwall at King Power Stadium.
"That was good, we keep winning, keep getting points, so it was a great win," Ricardo said afterwards. "They changed completely the way they are playing. They play with the back five, so we had to adapt a little bit.
"I think the first shot they had, they scored, so we had to keep patient, keep working the ball side to side to find more space and, [in the] second half, we had a great start and that made the difference. We cannot change the way we play, change the way we work every day, so we need to keep going, be patient and wait for the opportunity to come."
Coming out for the second half with intent helped the Foxes flip the game on its head and set them up perfectly for a big festive schedule of matches. With just one point between City and Ipswich Town in second, there's plenty at stake.
Ricardo's Delight Following Millwall Triumph
Ricardo Pereira reflects on Leicester City's 3-2 victory over Millwall at King Power Stadium.
"It was very important to start on the front foot with opportunities and with goals to get the fans on our side," he added.
"Like I said before, it made a difference. It's going to be an important month. We know how December is; game after game and keep getting points.
"Of course, [top of the table] is where we want to be, but we have to go game after game and keep our feet on the ground and keep working."
