Harry Souttar kickstarted things off on Tuesday’s international stage when he started and played his part in a big 5-0 win for Australia against Lebanon at GIO Stadium Canberra.

Elsewhere in Europe, Turkey fell to a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Austria. Yunus Akgün started on the bench and was introduced after a hour, but couldn’t affect the final result as SC Freiburg’s striker Michael Gregoritsch scored three.
The Leicester City Development Squad also had several players in action, one of which was Tawanda Maswanhise, who was a second-half substitute in Zimbabwe’s 3-1 defeat to Kenya, Michael Olunga netting a hat-trick for the Kenyans.
Denmark were also playing in friendly action when they met the Faroe Islands at Brøndby Stadion; Jannik Vestergaard got a full game under his belt while Mads Hermansesn was an unused substitute.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre Emile-Højbjerg opened the scoring before Mohamed Daramy confirmed the victory from the bench in a 2-0 victory.
There was a big win for England Under-21s on Tuesday who beat Luxembourg 7-0 to remain second in Group F with 18 points from seven games, as they look to qualify for the UEFA U21 European Championships.
Callum Doyle began on the bench but was brought on in the 75th minute to replace Samuel Iling-Junior, who had scored a brace on the night, as did Chelsea’s Noni Madueke.
More of City’s youngsters were in action for Wales Under-21s in the form of Oli Ewing and Chris Popov, who were named in the starting line-up against Morocco but were beaten 2-0.
The final game of the evening saw Nigeria beaten 2-0 by Mali in a friendly in Marrakech. Both Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi were named in the Super Eagles’ starting line-up but goals from El Bilal Touré and Kamory Doumbia saw them defeated.
