Five Things We Learned About Caleb Okoli
With his full interview now available to read exclusively on the LCFC App, here’s a taste of what the Italian centre-back had to say about his footballing journey to date and some key milestone he has hit…
A Love For The Game
“My family moved to Italy more than 30 years ago. Me and my brother started playing football together and it was a journey together. Football has been very much a part of my life since I was a very little child; I love football.”
Experiencing Filbert Way
“I first went to King Power Stadium about five years ago for a friendly match and I just played a couple of minutes (for Atalanta). I was young but it was a very great experience. I was also surprised by the stadium; at that time it was already a good stadium.”
His Serie A Debut
“The atmosphere can be very fierce [in Italy]. To see all the people shouting at you and screaming your name was very unbelievable and something so big for me. And also playing where I grew up was a very important thing to me, so it was very good.”
International Aspirations
“Sometime in my future I hope to play some senior international games and it will be a very big step for me. I hope it will come very soon.”
A Dream Come True
“Now I’m here, this time playing for Leicester. To go every other weekend to play Premier League games there, it is a very good thing for me. I always thought about one day playing in the Premier League. Now that I’m here in Leicester, it’s a dream come true, so I’m very excited.”
