Kristiansen: A Typical Premier League Game
- Victor Kristiansen reviews Leicester City's 1-1 draw with Everton
- Stephy Mavididi's second-half strike sealed a third Premier League point for City
- Kristiansen admits feeling frustration in the first half at King Power Stadium
- He also spoke glowingly of his playing relationship with Stephy Mavididi
Leicester City fell behind to Iliman Ndiaye's 12th-minute strike and, amid heavy rainfall at King Power Stadium, were able to eventually wrestle back control of a game which threatened to get away from them.
Stephy Mavididi restored parity on the scoresheet on 73 minutes and, in the end, were disappointed not to register their first top-flight success of the new season.
"It was a typical Premier League game," Kristiansen said at full-time. "There were lots of chances at both ends. It was frustrating in the first half but we got after it in the second half and probably should have had a goal more. It was a hard-fought point and it could be worse.
A Hard-Fought Point, Says Kristiansen
Victor Kristiansen assesses Leicester City's 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday.
"We wanted to get the quality up [in the second half] and having more focus on the duels. Tactically, it was okay. It was a bit stressful in the first half.
"Many of the positions we wanted to have, we didn’t quite get there, but it changed a bit in the second half. It was very tough. It was a heavy pitch due to the rain and we tried our best to have the 2-1 goal.
"It's always frustrating to go behind, especially at home, when we want to control the game and play our way. That changed after the goal, it was great character from the team and from the guys out there, to come back into the game."
Mavididi Seals A Point From Everton Clash
The biggest moments from Leicester City's 1-1 draw with Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Lining up behind Mavididi on the left channel, the Danish full-back is enjoying playing with Leicester's No.10 and is eager to help City's joint top goalscorer swell his tally further this term.
"It’s been good to play with Stephy," he added. "It’s a different role for me in the last two games. I think I can show my strengths to arrive in the second and third phases of the game. It’s about giving Stephy the space he needs for his one-v-ones and sometimes coming up and supporting with overlaps etc. It’s been good.
"Right now it’s just a frustration about the first half and coming back from behind. We’ll evaluate tomorrow and then look forward to Tuesday."
