Bottom-placed Everton are the next challenge to face Leicester City in the Barclays Women's Super League, when the Toffees make the trip to King Power Stadium this Sunday afternoon (3pm BST kick-off).

Thursday's press conference at Belvoir Drive focused on the tactical aspects of the Foxes' play, with the key points below...

Defensive stability

Celebrating a clean sheet at Villa Park.

Joining from Stade de Reims this summer, Miquel stated that her first concern was to remedy the defensive backline, and hopes to build on a first clean sheet of the season against Aston Villa last time out.

"I'm a Manager that quite likes offensive football, so right now, I'm not doing what I enjoy most but I think that it is an important part and is something that was not well done last season," she explained.

"That's why we have been focusing on that first. It is improving, and we analysed it more today and we are improving on the stats front game by game but I do think we could be better."

Working on the attack

Jutta Rantala

City's only WSL goal this season came on the opening day against Liverpool.

Scoring only once in the WSL this season, when Jutta Rantala found the net on the opening day against Liverpool, Miquel hopes that her side can return to the prowess shown in Australia, despite the news of Rantala's injury, keeping the forward sidelined for the short term.

She added: "I felt that in pre-season we did have a good attacking connection between our players, so it's just finding that form again and maybe letting everyone have the chance to impress.

"With some players being out, that offers the chance for other players. I do think we have potential in that area of the pitch to cause problems, but they may be lacking confidence right now which we need to give them."

Sunday's opponents & trusting the process

The Manager urges the Leicester fans to be patient.

Everton, also on two points this season, have scored just once as well, providing an anticipated battle on Filbert Way this weekend when both sides search for their first win ahead of the international break.

Stating the importance of confidence within the squad, Miquel finished with a message to the Foxes faithful, asking them to trust the process and stick with the team, with 18 games in the top flight still to go.

"I think we will keep focusing on what we've been doing so far," the Manager continued. "The aim is to take no goals like we did last weekend but like Everton probably want to as well, we need to improve offensively.

"As I've said, it's about getting confidence going in the squad as I know we have the qualities in forward areas, and once we get that second goal (of the season), it opens up a bit and people will relax, leading to us being better going forward.

"The fans have been excellent and they need to stay patient. It will come and at some point, you will be rewarded with all of the cheering and support that you've been giving us."
