The Red Devils are up next for the Foxes on Wednesday, travelling to Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup Fourth Round (7:45pm GMT kick-off), five days on from a Premier League defeat at home to Nottingham Forest.

Cooper revealed some positive news on the injury front ahead of the last-16 tie, with Denmark defender Vestergaard in contention to be involved for the Club for the first time since late August.

He’s back with the group now and it’s good to have him back.

His international team-mate Kristiansen will be on the sidelines, however, having missed Friday’s encounter due to a groin complaint, previously starting all eight league fixtures this term.

“Jannik is available again,” the Manager told reporters in his pre-match press conference. “Obviously he had a stutter with his ankle when he did return, but on his first day back he had a setback.

“But he’s back with the group now and it’s good to have him back. He’s an experienced player and we’ll see.

On Kristiansen, he added: "It is a muscle injury to the groin and sometimes they can take a long time to recover. And sometimes from a scan, it can be less, so it’ll be a little while, but it’ll be days and weeks rather than longer than that. We feared the worse with a muscle groin injury, but the scan proved it wasn’t as bad.”

Hamza Choudhury, meanwhile, has returned to training after recovering from a dislocated shoulder suffered in training at the start of the month.

“He’s back in training,” the Welshman said. “There was a decision to be made, which obviously Hamza was involved in the process of, whether he wanted surgery or whether surgery was an option or not.

“If it was surgery, he would have been out for a lot longer than what he has been. As with all of these things, there’s a risk attached to both and the decision he was very much a part of was to let it heal naturally and that’s what we’ve done.”
