The Foxes return to action at Vitality Stadium in the hope of recording their first away win of the Premier League season against a Cherries outfit that sit just two positions below Craig Shakespeare’s men.

And a productive few days on the Belvoir Drive pitches has helped City prepare themselves for what King believes will be a huge test for his side.

“We know from previous years that they’re a tough nut to crack down there,” King told LCFC TV.

“They’ve got some good players and they’re an established Premier League team as well, so we know it’s going to be a hard game.

The midfielder is put through his paces.

“We’ve struggled against them a little bit in recent years, so hopefully we can put that right this weekend.

“We’ve had a good week of training and we’ve had no interference with the cup games or anything like that, so we’ve had a really sharp week.

“The boys are raring to go, so we want to turn some of the performances that we’ve had of late into a positive result this weekend.”

King credited Eddie Howe for his impact at the club, having taken Bournemouth from League 1 to the Premier League during his second spell as manager on the south coast.

The Academy graduate continued: “He’s done a brilliant job and with the size of the club, they’ve done unbelievably well to get there and to stay there and consolidate like they have.

“They had a top-half finish last season as well, so you can’t speak highly enough of the job what he’s done there and the style of play is really good as well.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game at the weekend but it’s one we’re more than ready for.”

King was part of the side that beat Bournemouth 1-0 in February 2014 to help the Foxes to a ninth consecutive Championship win en route to the title that term.

Reflecting on that game, King added: “I remember the pitch was terrible! Kev (Kevin Phillips) came on as well and he got up at the back stick to head one home and did the Zimmer frame celebration, which went down well.

“It was a massive win and that’s what it was about that season, grinding out the away results. We were really strong at home and away it was all about grinding it out and that was one that was a ninth victory in a row and it extended our lead at the top as well.”
