Foxes Put Four Past Notts County
Despite falling behind through a Lewis Alessandra strike, goals from Wes Morgan, Hamza Choudhury, Demarai Gray and Islam Slimani saw the Foxes begin their pre-season campaign with a positive result.
Claude Puel handed new signings Jonny Evans and James Maddison starts at Meadow Lane, while Academy graduates Choudhury and Darnell Johnson were also involved from the off.
Both sides traded blows early on, with former Blackpool and Sunderland midfielder David Vaughan striking the foot of the post on three minutes, before Evans had two efforts blocked and Christian Fuchs fired off target during the same phase of play.
With 20 minutes gone, the hosts broke the deadlock. While his shot was initially saved by Eldin Jakupović, midfielder Alessandra was on hand to tuck the loose ball into the back of the net.
Much improved after the opening goal, Morgan levelled for the Foxes. The former Magpies youngster controlled Maddison’s corner before sending a half-volley past Branislav Pindroch with 26 minutes on the clock.
A second goal in just three minutes followed, this time from Choudhury. The central midfielder drove through the Notts County defence before side-footing into the bottom corner for 1-2.

A series of superb blocks from Johnson then came shortly before half-time, as he turned away two efforts to ensure City headed into the break with their one-goal advantage intact.
Puel made three changes to his side at the break, introducing Ben Chilwell, Andy King and Vicente Iborra in place of Fuchs, Papy Mendy and Choudhury.
Just seven minutes into the second half, City had a third. A wonderful solo run from Gray, who picked the ball up just inside the Notts County half, saw him beat two defenders before slotting in from a tight angle.
More changes for Leicester followed, as six Foxes came on just after the hour mark. Included in those substitutes was youngster Layton Ndukwu, whose near-post effort was tipped wide with around 20 minutes to play.
Puel’s men continued to threaten in the latter stages and it was Algeria international Slimani who added to the scoreline, converting Leonardo Ulloa’s cushioned pass following a brilliant delivery from Daniel Amartey.
Major moment
Academy graduate Hamza Choudhury makes it 1-2 with an excellent finish from range.
After Wes Morgan had cancelled out Lewis Alessandra's effort, the Foxes regained momentum and deservedly took the lead through Hamza Choudhury.
His goal came just two minutes after Morgan's and set City on their way to a fine win in Nottingham.
Who impressed?
Johnson operated brilliantly at right back before switching to a central defensive role in the second half against Notts County.
The only outfield player to complete the full 90 minutes on Saturday was Darnell Johnson, who throughout the afternoon was tasked with defending against several seasoned professionals.
Johnson, 19, rose to the challenge and with just a few minutes of the first half to play, making two huge blocks to protect his side’s 1-2 lead.

Demarai Gray punches the air after scoring a superb goal against Notts County.
On Monday, Leicester City head to Austria, where they will first take on Akhisarspor on Wednesday 25 July (5pm kick-off BST) – a fixture that will be shown live, for free, on LCFC TV in the United Kingdom and Thailand.
