Wilfred Ndidi

Ndidi: We Fought For This Point

Midfield enforcer Wilfred Ndidi says Leicester City did not settle for a point despite having 10 men for over an hour against Brighton & Hove Albion.
More on this story...

- Wilfred Ndidi was delighted with how 10-man Leicester City attempted to win their clash with Brighton & Hove Albion
- The Foxes earned a 1-1 Premier League draw thanks to a penalty from Jamie Vardy

Glenn Murray put Brighton in front with 15 minutes gone before James Maddison was shown two yellow cards in three minutes in the first period.

However, City were much improved after the break and deservedly drew level following a clinical penalty from Jamie Vardy, who like Ndidi came off the bench to play a significant role for Claude Puel's outfit.

Ndidi told LCFC TV: “We will take this one because we fought hard for it, we could’ve asked for more but it was just the game. We were 1-0 down, we had to fight for it, we knew we couldn’t settle to lose the game but the 1-1 is okay for us.

Lessons To Learn For Ndidi

Wilfred Ndidi was pleased to see his side claim a point against Brighton but insists that they must learn lessons from the performance.

“Everyone knew what they were doing, and we actually saw the game at that time, we needed to get one goal and that came.

“We tried to go for one more, it didn’t happen but it’s something we should learn from, from 1-0 down, it doesn’t mean the game is finished, we just need to keep going.”

“If we’d have got in another one, everyone would’ve been happier than we are now, but there are positives, we just settle for it.”

Jamie Vardy scored his fourth Premier League goal of the 2018/19 campaign.

Up next for the Foxes is a Carabao Cup Fourth Round tie with Southampton at King Power Stadium on Tuesday 27 November (7:45pm GMT kick-off).

The Nigeria international said of the game: “This is really close and it keeps us focused, it isn’t just about the weekend and the next weekend also, it’s about putting in your mind that you have games in the week.

“We have to train, rest and look forward to the next game.”
