Swaby: Great To Make My WSL Debut

- The Jamaican defender shared her thoughts on the game
After signing for LCFC Women in the summer, Swaby has had to wait for her first WSL appearance after making her Leicester debut in a League Cup match against Bristol City last month.
Part of a back five at Broadfield Stadium, the Jamaican international was proud of her team-mates' commitment on the field despite defeat to a side flying high in the top division.
"It feels great to make my debut," Swaby announced. "It's been a few games now and I've been ready to get on the field. It's great to get 90 minutes and I'm excited to keep going.
"There's a great group of girls that we have and competition is great in training so it's a great atmosphere to have. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season because we have some great players.
"Of course, we are struggling with injuries, but when everyone is back fit and healthy, we'll be fighting for sure.
"We've seen injuries throughout the week and you prepare to face a team at the weekend and then injuries disrupt. It's tough because you work so hard to establish a line-up and routine and when that's interfered with it's hard.
"We've done a great job of adapting to that and I'm proud of the girls and we got the defending bit well for most of it, so I'm proud for the team to achieve that."
Getting 90 minutes under her belt, Swaby is happy to have got her WSL career started and is looking to continue building as a player in the East Midlands and believes the process implemented by Amandine Miquel will come to fruition.
The defender added: "I've been watching this league for years before coming here so I knew it was going to be a great competition and I was going to have to fight for my spot, which is what I'm doing. I'm excited to continue in this league and get better as a player.
"I played against her team in France and I was able to see what she could do and I have a lot of faith in her. She has an idea of what she wants from the team and as long as she executes that, we'll be fine."
